Gift ideas for grandparents
Last checked:
Grandparents value gifts that bring the grandchildren closer: a wall calendar with family photos and QR codes that play the grandchildren's voices, a photo print that plays a message when scanned, or a song about the family. Playing a QR code needs only a phone camera — no app and no sign-in — and a song arrives by email, so it can be sent to grandparents who live far away.

Good to know
- Printed items take up to 11 working days to arrive in Croatia and up to 15 working days elsewhere in the EU, so order them about three weeks before the day. A song can be ready the same day; a digital Magic Book arrives within 48 hours of payment.
- Printed items are delivered only within the 27 EU countries. For grandparents in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina or elsewhere outside the EU, a song or a digital Magic Book can be sent by email.
- Songs and the Magic Book can be made in English, German, Croatian, Slovenian or Serbian (Latin or Cyrillic). You can design the photo print, night sky, calendar and T-shirt in English, and the dedication on a photo print can be in any language.
What else people give
Time together is what most grandparents say they want. Photo books, framed photos, things the grandchildren made themselves, slippers and practical household items are the usual gifts. A calendar or speaking photo combines the photos they love with the voices they miss.
Questions
- What is a good gift for grandparents from the grandchildren?
- A wall calendar or photo print with the grandchildren's photos and a QR code that plays their voices — they see them every day and hear them whenever they scan the code.
- Do grandparents need an app to play the QR code?
- No. Scanning with a phone camera opens a page that plays the recording; no app and no sign-in.
- Can I change what the calendar's QR codes play later?
- Yes. After the order you choose what each QR code plays — a voice message, an uploaded recording or a song — and you can change it at any time, even when the calendar is already on the wall.
- Can you deliver to grandparents outside the EU?
- Printed items are delivered only within the 27 EU countries. For grandparents in, for example, Serbia or Bosnia and Herzegovina, a custom song or a digital Magic Book can be sent by email.
- How early should I order?
- About three weeks ahead for printed items (up to 11 working days in Croatia, up to 15 elsewhere in the EU). A song can be ready the same day.
